Climate Change Capital Private Equity invests £7.5m in Climate Energy Ltd

Climate Change Capital Private Equity (CPE) has invested a further £7.5 million into its majority owned portfolio company Climate Energy, an energy efficiency services firm.

The proceeds have enabled Climate Energy to enter into an agreement to acquire Creative Energy Networks (CEN) for an undisclosed sum.

CEN is an organisation delivering a range of services to engage householders, businesses and communities in environmental and social improvement. The acquisition of CEN has strengthened the group, making it the largest Energy Savings Trust advice partner in the UK, now offering a broad range of services in helping members of the public to reduce energy bills and cut carbon emissions, CPE says.

Andrew Holmes, Climate Energy’s Managing Director, comments: “The combination of CEN and Climate Energy positions the group to deliver our customers the widest range of advice and services available from a single provider in this market place. The purchase is a natural step in growing our business platform across the UK.”

The acquisition follows the Climate Energy management buyout in July last year. The management buyout signalled the beginning of a new growth phase for Climate Energy.
