EurObserv’ER's Wind Power Barometer published

EurObserv’ER consortium’s Wind Power Barometer shows that the total installed capacity of wind power in the European Union (EU) is 65 GW.

The EurObserv'ER consortium estimates the wind power capacity installed during 2008 at 8447 MW showed a market decreased of 1.8% compared to the data from the year before.

Reason for this development can be attributed to a drop in the Spanish market and a stagnant German market (Germany and Spain together represented 38.8% of the market in the EU in 2008 compared to 60.1% in 2007).

In addition to regional information the barometer looks at renewable energy policy, selected country reviews, wind power industry news and an outlook for 2010.
