PLG Power plans 60 MW of solar PV power plants in India

PLG Power Ltd, a Mumbai based manufacturer of crystalline solar photovoltaic (PV) modules and provider of solar PV power plants, plans to set up an aggregate of 60 MW solar PV power plants in India.

The grid connected power plants are expected to go online in Gujarat, Rajasthan and West Bengal in 2010, and represent an investment of around US$200 million.

Pramod Goel, Chairman of PLG Power says that the company has been allotted a capacity of 40 MW of solar PV in Gujarat and 10 MW in West Bengal. The allotment from Rajasthan and Andhra Pradesh is not finalised.

Punit Goyal, Managing Director of PLG Power adds that the company is already in negotiations with a number of project developers to provide turnkey solutions to setup a total of 100 MW solar PV grid connected power plants by 2011.

PLG Power says it is also planning to set up solar PV farms in Europe and USA.
