SolarWorld establishes office in France for French solar power market

SolarWorld AG is establishing a liaison office in Grenoble, France, to be closer to French customers as the solar power market in France is now fourth place in the European league of newly installed solar output capacities.

SolarWorld's French liaison office is meant to provide country-wide technical training, and consultation for wholesalers and installers of solar power systems.

“While other companies are moving their production into low-wage countries we are deliberately expanding our sites in Europe and the USA. This is appreciated by our customers,” explains Frank H. Asbeck, Chairman and CEO of SolarWorld.

A current study by the Fraunhofer Institute on behalf of the VDI says that more and more companies with production activities in low-wage countries are encountering quality problems and thus a lack of acceptance on the part of customers.
