Bosch Solar Energy says no redundancies are expected. All functions of the solar cell manufacturer will be consolidated at the Arnstadt site, where Bosch is investing a total of €530 million.

“This gives us the opportunity to integrate operations and concentrate all crystalline activities in one location,” says Holger von Hebel, CEO of Bosch Solar Energy, former ersol Solar Energy.

The consolidation should result in shorter distances and “distinct cost advantages” in the future, Bosch Solar Energy says. The relocation from Erfurt is expected to be completed by the end of 2012.
