EU database on renewable energy legislation complete

The EU database on renewable energy legislation, www.res-legal.eu, providing information for all 27 EU countries is now complete.

With the inclusion of the profiles for Romania and Bulgaria, the renewable energy legislation project – which was initiated by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU) – has now been completed.

All country profiles are available in German and English. An additional hotline has been set up under +49 30 246 286 93. Likewise available in German and English, the hotline will answer questions relating to the various promotion and grid access profiles of renewable energy in the EU.

More than 70,000 visitors have already used the renewable energy legislation database since it was launched about a year ago. The top five countries accessed are Italy, Spain, the Czech Republic, France and Germany.

RES-LEGAL.eu provides a legal appraisal of legislative texts, which are available not just in their original languages but also to a large extent as English translations.

The regulations for renewable energy such as wind, solar, geothermal, biomass and hydroelectric energy are listed in detail. The data are divided into information on promotion, grid access and legal sources.

The service is further more completed with contact data for national renewable energy legislation experts, and a search assistant helps users with their research.

RES LEGAL supplements the BMU’s own online service, which also includes its portal at www.erneuerbare-energien.de for renewable energy sources.
