Alongside large-scale installations with a size of 8 MWp in total, the GOAB pursues its clean energy approach also through the realisation of numerous smaller projects. Equipping more than 50 schools and other public buildings with reliable energy solutions, namely PV Energy’s sun2roof  photovoltaic roof installations, as part of Antigua and Barbuda’s commitment to sustainability is in full progress. Until today, 12 schools have been supplied with eco-friendly solar power solutions. The students of the Bendals Primary School, for example, benefit from a sun2roof system delivering 130,7 kWh of green renewable energy per day and saving yearly 25.260 kilograms of carbon dioxide emissions since June 2016. 

The latest project completed is the photovoltaic installation on the roof of the Hospitality Training Institute generating as off now 257 kWh of reliable solar energy per day and therefore saving 49.692 kilograms of CO2 emissions in the same period. Currently, the PV Energy team is installing the substructure of the solar panels on the roof of the Antigua Girls High School. Upon completion, the solar solution will generate 355,6 kWh of clean energy every day and save 68.740 kilograms of CO2 yearly.

PV Energy claims to provide one more school with sun2roof installations every week, supporting the process of reducing the twin-island’s dependency on fossil fuels. Moreover, numerous buildings of the social housing program benefit to date from the sustainable and environmentally friendly solar solutions of PV Energy.
