Vergnet announces opening of UK subsidiary

Ripley, Derbyshire, selected as the location for medium wind turbine manufacturer’s British base.

Vergnet, a global renewable energy solutions provider and leading manufacturer of medium-scale wind turbines, has opened a UK subsidiary located in Ripley, Derbyshire. The new UK subsidiary will support Vergnet’s continued growth in the medium wind energy sector in the UK.

“We are delighted to announce the opening of our new UK subsidiary in Ripley, Derbyshire,” said Diana Popa, Vergnet’s head of sales in Europe and North America. “The last five years have seen major growth for medium wind projects here with capacity rising 60% year-on-year[1].  This has been supported by the government’s Feed-In Tariff (FiT) which remains attractive and offers strong returns.

According to Popa, the new UK subsidiary confirms Vergnet’s continued commitment to the UK market and brings the company closer to its increasing base of UK customers. These clients, she said, rely on Vergnet’s full after-sales services and operations and maintenance to keep their wind turbines operating at maximum performance.”

Headquartered in France, Vergnet has a 25-year track record working with developers worldwide, with more than 900 wind turbines installed including a total of 28 in the UK. Vergnet works with partners and developers in the UK to provide high-performance wind turbines for medium wind energy projects from 200 to 500kW. To date, the company has installed medium scale wind turbines on farms in Cornwall, Leicester, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire, Northumberland, Nottinghamshire, Suffolk, East Lothian, the Scottish Borders and Northern Ireland.
