Wind turbine manufacture closes out 2014 with trio of large orders

The month of December was a good one for Vestas. On the heels of a 258 MW deal announced a few weeks ago, Vestas has landed three deals totaling nearly 300 MW.

The newly announced deals are as follows:
An unconditional order in Chile for 44 V110-2.0 MW turbines, with a total capacity of 88 MW. The contract comprises supply, installation and commissioning of the wind turbines, and a VestasOnline® Business SCADA solution. The wind power plant is expected completed in the first quarter of 2016.

Vestas also received a 150 MW order in the USA as part of turbine supply agreements with an additional potential of up to 1,000 MW. The order comprises supply and commissioning of the wind turbines, as well as a three-year Active Output Management (AOM 5000) service agreement. Turbine delivery of the 150 MW is scheduled for third quarter 2016.

Finally, Vestas gas received a 60 MW order from SunEdison in the USA as part of a Master Supply Agreement, with a potential of up to 600 MW. The turbines in the new MSA will be deployed at various projects that are currently being developed. The MSA includes delivery of wind turbine equipment together with a 10-year Active Output Management (AOM) 5000 service agreement.

Vestas’ total year-to-date announced order intake: 5,791 MW.
