Located 45 kilometers off the German coast, the Trianel Windpark Borkum covers an area of 56 km². This park will produce its first megawatt-hour of wind power this year.

The accomplishment marks an important milestone for AREVA, accoridng to Louis-François Durret, AREVA Renewables CEO. By year-end, AREVA will have installed 120 offshore turbines in Germany, providing electricity to around 600,000 households.
