Ampair completes acquisition of Westwind

Purchase expands Ampair's range of wind turbine offerings.

David Sharman, Ampair’s managing director, said the deal puts Ampair in a very strong position for the future with business risk diversified against a wide portfolio of time-served turbine products, including three MCS-certified turbines. With the purchase, Ampair's product offering runs the gamut from wind turbines from 100W through to 20kW. These turbines are typically used on locations ranging from yachts to powering farms and houses.

"With a range of eight turbines we can always offer the customer the right turbine for their needs," Sharman said, citing the company's focus on the 'small wind' market.

Ampair will continue to operate out of both its Dorset factory and also the former Westwind works in Antrim. Minimal changes to staff are expected.
