'Marine Renewable Energy Collaborative' established in Marion, Massachusetts

MRECo formed to further develop wave, tidal and wind energy in the New England area.

MRECo is dedicated to continuing the industry development work that was already under way at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, where executive director John Miller (now retired) founded the Marine Renewable Energy Centre back in 2006.

Specifically, MRECo aims to help companies commercialise new technologies and "bridge the gap" between academia and industry. Several device demonstrations are in the planning stages and will be reported upon in the future.

In addition MRECo is working with both the International Conference on Ocean Energy (ICOE) and Energy Ocean to generate awareness of the wealth of research and development being done in New England.

Contact MRECo for more information via e-mail or call (508) 728-5825.
