2014 World Future Energy Summit draws new exhibitors, sponsors

Ninety per cent of show space sold, WFES organizers report

Leading innovators in clean energy are signing up in droves to exhibit at the 7th World Future Energy Summit, or WFES 2014. The event, slated for 20-22 January in Abu Dhabi, is organized by Reed Exhibitions and hosted by Masdar.

The exhibition area at WFES attracts a wide range of stakeholders in the energy, energy-efficiency and clean energy sectors that are keen to share their latest innovations, demonstrate their sustainability credentials, and develop new relationships for business. News sponsors have signed on as well, with Exxon Mobil (gold sponsor) joining the list of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (principal sponsor), Emirates Aluminium (associate sponsor) and Total, Shell, Occidental and Dubai Electricity & Water Authority — all platinum sponsors.

“Investment in renewable energy, particularly within the Middle East North Africa region, is growing as more and more governments and private partners commit to large-scale clean energy projects,” said Naji El Haddad, WFES show director.

WFES 2014 will be co-located with the second edition of the International Water Summit and the inaugural EcoWASTE exhibition, also hosted by Masdar, at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre. WFES 2014 features a Project and Finance Village, a Sustainable Living Area, a Young Future Energy Leaders programme, round table discussions, and various corporate events and social engagements.
