Finnish supplier of magnet generator and full-power converter packages for wind power and other renewable energy applications The Switch has announced the addition of David Ho to the Board of Directors.

A statement from The Switch said Ho's appointment demonstrated the company's "deep commitment" to its customer base in its main market, China. Ho brings with him a network consisting of professional and governmental contacts in the country, it said.

Ho also has long experience in the technology, media and telecommunications (TMT) industry in Greater China, said the company, including working as President of Nokia in Greater China, Chairman of Nokia Siemens Network in Greater China, and followed by being a senior advisor for European private equity firm Permira.

“China is the number one market for The Switch for our wind components - as well as our emerging businesses of solar, marine and other industrial new energy applications. It is important also on the Board level that we have good knowledge of the market, and up-to-date information of the market dynamics,” said Jukka-Pekka Mäkinen, President and CEO of The Switch.
