SFC Energy deal with Acal BFi to distribute EFOY Pro fuel cell generators

German-based SFC Energy has concluded a distribution agreement with European technology supplier Acal BFi, which will add the SFC Energy range of EFOY Pro fuel cell generators to its Power Solutions portfolio.

SFC Energy is a leading developer and manufacturer of portable, mobile, and off-grid power generation and distribution systems using direct methanol fuel cell technology. Acal BFi provides specialist design, sales, and marketing services for international customers in the fields of electronic components, power supplies, and system components.

For several years Acal BFi has been a distributor of the power conversion products (e.g. DC-DC converters and AC-DC switched-mode power supplies) of PBF Group BV, which was acquired last autumn by SFC Energy Group.

Adding the EFOY Pro fuel cell generators means that Acal BFi now offers the full portfolio of SFC’s power generation, power conversion and power management products and solutions for industrial as well as defence & security applications.

SFC’s EFOY Pro power solutions are independent off-grid power generators for professional industrial applications in the oil & gas and wind energy industries, traffic management, surveillance, analytical and semiconductor equipment.

They provide reliable, autonomous, weather-independent power for stationary, mobile, and vehicle-based industrial applications. The high energy density of the methanol fuel gives the EFOY Pro fuel cell months of autonomy, considerably reducing logistics and service costs.

‘With our EFOY Pro fuel cell generator becoming part of the Acal BFi product offering, we have brought this efficient, silent and environmentally friendly power source even closer to users in demanding power supply applications, where the reliable, remote-controllable 24/7 availability of power is a must,’ says Dr Peter Podesser, CEO of SFC Energy.

Acal BFi and SFC Energy are presenting their portfolio and solutions at their joint exhibit at the electronica 2012 electronics trade fair, taking place this week in Munich (Hall B6, Booth 223).
