EUROBAT and EASE agree to work together on energy storage

A Memorandum of Understanding between the two organisations reflects the mutual interest of both organisations in energy storage development.

The Association of European Automotive and Industrial Battery Manufacturers (EUROBAT) signed the MoU with the European Association for Storage of Energy (EASE) in order to foster stronger co-operation on the development of energy storage.

EASE represents companies that are actively developing energy storage systems, and aims to promote market uptake of all energy storage applications in line with EU energy and climate policy.

EUROBAT meanwhile has developed close contacts with Government institutions and other associations in the EU, and globally particularly those involved in grid operations, energy distribution, renewable energy and transportation.

“This agreement with EASE is another avenue to leverage the battery industry’s contribution to the energy storage debate in the European Union” said Alfons Westgeest, EUROBAT Secretary General.

The agreement will see both organisations participate in working groups, exchange information and data, and get involved in relevant events - particularly in relation to electricity distribution, generation and markets.
