Morphic wins fuel cell order from RV accessories supplier

Italian-based Morphic Exergy Fuel Cells has signed a distribution agreement with Narbonne Accesories of France, to supply its Polaris 140 portable PEM fuel cell system. The order has a guaranteed minimum value of SEK48 million (US$6m) for Exergy, a subsidiary of Swedish-based Morphic Technologies. The product has been approved by the customer, and deliveries will begin in September.

The Polaris 140 from Exergy Fuel Cells is a compact portable fuel cell, which in this particular application runs on sodium borohydride. The NaBH4 fuel supply is distributed in liquid form (dissolved in water), and forms hydrogen continuously at the same rate as it is consumed in the fuel cell.

Narbonne will sell the Exergy Polaris 140 to owners of house trailers and motorhomes, who attach it to the electrical systems of their recreational vehicles to charge their existing batteries.

‘The product and area of application are exactly right, and show not only that the market has embraced our offer, but also indicate that our strategy of focusing our resources on concrete product development rather than visions will generate business,’ comments Martin Valfridsson, president/CEO of Morphic Technologies.
