Siemens Energy will supply 90 wind turbines totalling 200 MW for two wind farms, Korat 1 and Korat 2, in Nakorn Rachasrima Province in north-eastern Thailand.

The two wind farms will be developed by Thailand's Wind Energy Holding Co Ltd's K.R. Two Company Ltd (Korat 1) and First Korat Wind Co. Ltd (Korat 2).

The SWT-2.3-101 wind turbines will be installed and commissioned in 2012, and mark Siemens' first order from Thailand.

"The market entry in Thailand proves that our business gains momentum in Asia," says Kay Weber, CEO of the Siemens Wind Power Business Unit APAC. “We are confident that we will receive more orders in this dynamic region.”
