Hydrogenics wins electrolyser contract for Netherlands hydrogen fueling station

Canadian-based Hydrogenics has been awarded a contract by fuel station installer Ballast Nedam IPM, to supply a HySTAT 30 electrolyser for integration into a hydrogen fueling station in the Netherlands.

Hydrogenics says that the HySTAT® 30 electrolyser, capable of producing up to 65 kg per day of pure hydrogen, will be delivered to Ballast Nedam IPM in mid-2012, and operational by the end of the year.

The owner of the hydrogen fueling station will be Waterstofnet, a non-profit organization financed by the Flemish regional and Dutch governments.

The contract was awarded at the end of December, and represents the fourth hydrogen vehicle fueling station order received by Hydrogenics during 2011.

In November Hydrogenics received an order to deliver an electrolyser as part of a complete electrolysis-based hydrogen fueling station for the Swiss city of Brugg, scheduled for early this year.

Hydrogenics is a leading developer and manufacturer of hydrogen generation and fuel cell products. The company has an electrolyser manufacturing operation in Belgium.

Hydrogenics has more than 35 hydrogen fueling installations worldwide featuring its HySTAT electrolyser products, now including two in the Netherlands. The systems offer fully scalable capabilities to produce hydrogen on demand, with more than 200 installations worldwide in the more established industrial hydrogen markets.
