Doosan enters biomass market with majority stake in AE&E Lentjes

Doosan Power Systems has acquired the majority stake in AE&E Lentjes GmbH, which delivers process and plant engineering, boiler and environmental technologies as well as components for thermal power generation and energy-from-waste biomass plants.

By Kari Williamson

AE&E Lentjes holds a full range of circulating fluidised bed (CFB) combustion boilers, flue gas cleaning technologies for flue gas desulphurisation, alongside selective catalytic reduction (SCR) DeNOx systems and technology for waste-to-energy biomass plants.

“The access to CFB boiler technology and flue gas cleaning like wet and dry FGD complements Doosan Power Systems’ range of products that enable us to offer a full range of power generation solutions to our customers,” says Jean-Michel Aubertin, CEO of Doosan Power Systems.

“The combination of engineering competence, a skilled workforce and proven technologies will give us better access to new market segments like waste-to-energy and Biomass Plants.”

Doosan and Lentjes have collaborated on a number of projects in the past.

AE&E Lentjes will be renamed Doosan Lentjes GmbH and will be integrated into Doosan Power Systems’ Boiler and Air Pollution Control business.
