Hansen will be integrated into ZF, and together with the existing wind energy activities, Hansen will form the Business Unit Wind Power Technology in the Industrial Technology Division, which will be led by Alex De Ryck, formerly CEO of Hansen Transmissions.

“We are delighted to complete the takeover and welcome all new colleagues from Hansen to the growing ZF family,” says Hans-Georg Härter, CEO of ZF. “We have a huge respect for the success of Hansen so far. The company complements our activities perfectly: from a regional perspective, we can now serve all the major global markets in North America, Europe, and Asia. Our product range covers the entire megawatt spectrum. Equally importantly, we supply gearboxes to all major global manufacturers of wind turbines.

“We consider renewable energies and especially the market for wind energy to be a very attractive growth market in the long term. Together with the management and employees of Hansen, we want to expand the leading position in the wind energy business," Härters adds.
