SolarBridge gets US$2.3m to develop solar microinverters

SolarBridge Technologies has been awarded a US$2.3 million grant under the US Department of Energy's (DoE) SunShot programme to develop low-cost solar photovoltaic (PV) microinverters.

SolarBridge says it will use the grant to accelerate development of an ultra low-cost solar PV microinverter and universal mechanism for connecting power conversion electronics to solar modules.

SolarBridge will collaborate with module manufacturer SunPower Corp to develop an AC solar PV module leveraging the new attachment scheme and microinverter.
