Narec appoints three new board members

The UK National Renewable Energy Centre (Narec) has appointed three members of its senior management team to executive board positions.

Tony Ikwue, Director of Technology and Innovation, will be responsible for R&D and strategy, ensuring Narec’s strategic alignment with Government policies in the renewable energy field and working with industry and academia help to identify technology needs and solutions.

Tony Quinn, Director of Major Projects and Assets will join the board of Narec Development Services Ltd, overseeing the design, construction and business delivery of the £105 million investment programme for offshore renewable blade and drive train test facilities. He will also be overseeing the development of the offshore wind turbine demonstration site and is responsible for the delivery of existing marine and blade testing services.

Steven Caseley, Commercial Director, joins the board of Narec Development Services Limited where he will head up the organisation’s client facing activities, focusing on developing strategic commercial relationships with manufacturers, project developers and utilities for accelerated lifetime testing of prototype wind and marine technologies, as well as a range of technical services based around these facilities.
