The Carnaby Wind Energy Project will consist of two 3 MW wind turbines.

Construction is expected to commence in early 2012, and the site could become operational by summer 2012.

Andy Ryan, WRG’s Development Director, says: “WRG has extensive experience in recovering renewable energy from a range of waste treatment technologies, and we look forward to applying that expertise to wind energy development, with the help of our colleagues at FCC. We are committed to helping the UK meet its renewable energy targets and reduce carbon emissions, and we look forward to building on our contribution to this via the use of wind energy. Receiving approval to place two turbines at Carnaby marks a crucial step in the right direction.”

FCC, WRG’s parent company, has submitted three further wind farm planning applications, with another three due to be submitted in the next couple of months.
