The report shows installed wind capacity could reach 160.7 GW by 2030. In 2010, India had 13.1 GW of installed wind capacity.

Reaching 65.2 GW of wind by 2020 could attract around US$10.4 billion of annual investment and create 170,000 green collar jobs.

“The Indian Government has been committed to exploiting the country’s vast renewable energy resources for the last three decades, and the time has now come to elevate this political will to concrete action, both to reap the domestic benefits from renewable energy development, and to build on India’s growing leadership internationally in resolving both the energy and climate changes,” says DV Giri, IWTMA Chairman.
