First Reserve buys 70 MW solar plant from SunEdison

SunEdison has sold its 70 MW solar photovoltaic (PV) power plant located in Northeast Italy, near the town of Rovigo to First Reserve.

The total price is expected to be around €276 million.

When completed in the fourth quarter of 2010, the Rovigo plant could be the largest operating solar PV power plant in Europe.

SunEdison and Banco Santander jointly developed and co-owned the Rovigo plant prior to the sale.

After the sale, SunEdison will manage the ongoing operations and maintenance of the solar PV plant.
