The acquisition of Montalto di Castro solar PV park, located 100 km north of Rome in the region of Lazio, by Etrion has taken part in two phases. The 20 MW first phase of the solar PV project was completed in August whilst the 8 MW second phase was completed last week.

The Montalto di Castro solar PV park was designed and built by SunPower and uses SunPower's solar PV panels, installed on a SunPower Tracker system.

"With the closing of this acquisition, we are well on our way to completing the monetization of 85 MWs in Italy this year," says SunPower CFO Dennis Arriola.

Plans for a 44 MW expansion are in place which would bring the total scale of the solar PV park to 72 MW.
