RES Americas' Hackberry Wind Project begins commercial operations

Renewable Energy Systems Americas (RES Americas), which develops and constructs wind power projects, has announced completion and commencement of commercial operations of its Hackberry Wind Project, a US$350 million wind farm in Texas, USA.

RES Americas is the developer, construction contractor, operator of the project, and owner, along with GE Energy Financial Services a unit of GE.

Austin Energy will purchase the power produced by Hackberry. The site consists of 72 Siemens wind turbines producing a total of 166 MW.
