Abener constructed the solar combined cycle plant in Ain Beni Mathar. It combines solar with conventional gas.

The parabolic trough solar field has a reflective surface of more than 180 000 m2, and with a capacity of 22 MW. The remaining 450 MW comes from a steam turbine (150 MW) and two gas turbines producing 150 MW each.
