In an increasingly difficult economic climate, with consumers facing increasingly high bills for their electricity, there is a clear demand from many international governments for increasing alternative means of energy supply to the grid. Wind power, both onshore and offshore is becoming increasingly utilized as an alternative source. With high capital costs for installation, however, and reliable output capacity challenges, the price per kilowatt hour is perceived to be extremely high at present.  So can we produce more cost effective and reliable wind power? What are the challenges to this and are they being met?
