Conergy deploys 3 MW solar PV power plant in India

Conergy AG has erected a 3 MW solar photovoltaic (PV) power plant in Karnataka, India.

Conergy erected the solar PV plant for the local utility KPCL, and the 13,000 solar modules covering 17.3 acres, produce 4 GWh for the local grid.

The solar PV plant will supply electricity to the local rural population around the small city of Itnal in the province of Karnataka.

With the erection of the solar PV power plant, over 80% of the residents in and around Itnal will have access to electricity, Conergy says.

The energy from the solar PV power plant provides electricity for water pumps, amongst other things.

India’s National Solar Mission aims for 20 GW of solar energy in India by 2020.
