REpower supplies wind turbines to Poland and Italy

REpower will deliver 15 wind turbines to Poland and 18 wind turbines to Italy, totalling 67.65 MW.

The 15 MM92 wind turbines for the Lipnik wind farm near Opole in south-west Poland have a power rating of 2.05 MW. Construction and commissioning of the 30.75 MW wind farm are scheduled for this autumn.

REpower CEO, Per Hornung Pedersen, says: “We can see a lot of potential on the Polish market for wind power. The country is home to many more prime wind locations.”

The 18 wind turbines for Italy, are also of the MM92 2.05 MW type. They are intended for the 36.9 MW expansion of the Savignano wind farm in southern Italy. REpower has previously erected 20 MM92 wind turbines at the wind farm.

The new wind turbines are expected to be commissioned by Q1 2011 bringing the total output of the wind farm to 77.9 MW.
