Gross profit for the quarter reached $20.8m and the net loss amounted to $0.7m.

For the full year, Trina Solar recorded total net revenues of $831.9m, up 175.6%, and solar module shipments of 201.01 MW, up 164.8%. The gross profit increased 143.2% to $164.4m and net income rose 71.7% to $61.4m.

For 2009, Trina Solar predicts first quarter shipments of photovoltaic (PV) modules of 50-55 MW and a gross margin of 15-17%. For the full year, the company expects PV module shipments of 350-400 MW, a 74-99% increase over 2008.
