Gamesa has been selected to build two wind farms in India (with capacities of 50 MW and 108 MW), under turnkey arrangements for one of the country's leading independent power producers. Moreover, Gamesa has secured several orders for the supply of another 36 MW at four wind farms in India.
Located in the states of Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh, the two wind farms will be equipped with 25 and 54 of Gamesa's G97-2.0 MW Class S turbines -- a new turbine variant with a tower height of 104 metres custom-designed for the low wind speed sites typical of India. In addition, Gamesa will handle all of the infrastructure needed to install and operate both turnkey projects.
The two projets are slated for commissioning in July 2015 and February 2016. Under the terms of the deal, Gamesa will maintain the two facilities under long-term service contracts.
Furthermore, Gamesa has also signed orders from several customers for the supply of another 18 of its G97-2.0 MW turbines (36 MW in total) at four wind farms located in the states of Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. The agreements also encompass the provision of the related operation and maintenance services over the medium and long term.
