Mott MacDonald advisor on Mongolian windfarms

Mott MacDonald has been acting as engineering adviser to Honiton Energy, China, for two of its new windfarms located in Inner Mongolia.

The windfarms will provide a total of up to 100 MW of electricity once operational.

The first windfarm site has been completed and is for the town of BaiLingMaio (BLM) in the middle of the Inner Mongolian Grasslands. The project scope comprises a 50 MW windfarm with a 220 kVA substation linked by a 220 kV transmission line towards the state grid and is powered by 40, 1.25 MW wind turbines.

The second phase is still under construction and also comprises a 50 MW windfarm with 40, 1.25 MW wind turbines.
