Conergy supplies four UK solar farms totalling 15.3MWp for Solaer

The projects in Somerset, Devon and Buckinghamshire range from 2.2MW to 5.8MW

Conergy, a supplier of modules to debt-financed projects, announced today the imminent completion of four solar farms for long-term partner Solaer. Conergy says the plants are among a number of solar farms it is working on across the UK, and follow a 5.3MW project for Solaer in Cornwall last year.

Three of the solar farms are located in the southwest, producing enough electricity to power 3,200 homes, with two plants in Somerset (5.8MW, 2.2MW) and one in Devon (4MW). A 3.3MW solar farm in Buckinghamshire will produce enough electricity to power another 800 homes.

All of the projects feature Conergy’s P-Series module, which the company says has been popular with the UK’s fast-growing solar farm market. Conergy built the first 5MW farm in the UK in Nottinghamshire, which was refinanced last year by RBS.

A recent Bloomberg New Energy Finance study recently found that Conergy was Europe’s largest supplier of modules to debt-financed projects.
