Hiller has spent 21 years with WWF where he planned and led the organisation’s communications campaign for a fair, ambitious, and binding climate deal in Copenhagen. From 2002 to 2011, he shaped and managed all climate-related international communications activities at WWF, and helped position the organisation as the go-to NGO on climate issues, supporting its record as the world’s leading group for solutions-oriented conservation action.
Hiller is also President of the Board of the Gold Standard, the certifier of excellence in the carbon market. In this function, Hiller has helped lay the groundwork for a sustainable operation with 30 staff in 9 countries.
“I’m excited to be taking the helm at REEEP at such a critical time. The Partnership enjoys a strong track record in the world of clean energy and an impressive outreach with policy-makers,” says Hiller. “REEEP can play a critical role by further building trust in clean energy solutions, funding exemplary cutting-edge projects and by feeding the lessons learned into current policy discussions.”
“I’m delighted to see Martin take the DG position,” says Dr. Marianne Osterkorn, who is stepping down after 7 years as Director General. “He’s a strategic thinker and a savvy communicator with a clear vision for the future, and with him, the organisation is in very good hands.”
