Continued renewable energy support in Ontario following election

The continuation of the feed-in tariff programme in Ontario, Canada, seems to be secured with the election victory of the Liberal Party earlier this month.

The oppositional Progressive Conservative Party threatened ahead of the election to abolish the Ontario feed-in tariff programme for renewable energy, which lead to the holding back of orders ahead of the election, according to Reuters.

Since the feed-in tariff scheme was introduced two years ago, Ontario has attracted more than C$20 million in renewable energy investment commitments.
