The wind farm will be built in cooperation with SCA and is expected to be completed next year.
Stamåsen 1 wind farm will consist of 26 wind turbines, each with a capacity of 2.3 MW, and the wind farm is expected to generate around 200 GWh annually.
Construction is slated to start in September and the wind turbines will be installed next summer.
The total investment for the wind farm project is around NOK850 million (€108m).

Stamåsen wind farm is planned for the municipalities Sollefteå and Strömsund in Jämtland and Västernorrland counties in Central Sweden. The license allows for a total installed capacity of 115 MW, but the limited capacity of the transmission grid in the region necessitates a development in stages, Statkraft says.
In August, construction started on the 85 MW Mörttjärnberget wind farm in Bräcke municipality in Jämtland County. The wind farm is expected to start operation in 2013 and could produce 280 GWh annually.
Second quarter loss
In a separate statement Statkraft says its posted loss after tax was NOK929m in the second quarter of 2011, compared with a profit of NOK1063m in the second quarter of 2010.
"The result from the operations is satisfactory, but the posted result is negative due to unrealised changes in value and write-down of the shares in E.ON. During the quarter, the resource situation in the Nordic region improved substantially as a result of high precipitation," Rynning-Tønnesen says.
He adds: "In the second quarter, Statkraft took important steps in the implementation of our new strategy. The company entered into many new power agreements with Norwegian industrial companies, took investment decisions in wind power projects in Sweden and Scotland, and acquired shareholdings in Brazil through SN Power."
