Under the deal Peugeot España will promote Iberdrola’s Green Mobility plan and Iberdrola, via its subsidiary Servicios Energéticos, will encourage its Spanish customers to buy Peugeot’s electric vehicles. Peugeot has recently released its first electric car, the iOn.
Iberdrola’s Green Mobility plan is a commercial package including an electric vehicle, the installation of recharging stations, financing and the provision of a 100% renewable energy supply.
Iberdrola will also give Peugeot first consideration when buying vehicles for its fleet while the French company will prioritise Iberdrola’s recharging technology for its network of dealerships and offices.
Under the agreement, which can be extended annually, Peugeot and Iberdrola will periodically organise technological exchange meetings to discuss the technical requirements of the car manufacturer’s electric vehicles and Iberdrola’s recharging stations to ensure full compatibility.
Aitor Moso, Commercial Manager of Iberdrola, says: “Our objective is to promote the use of electric vehicles and to promote the implementation of specific initiatives, such as the deal signed today, that help make sustainable mobility a reality.”
Antonio González, Deputy General Manager of Peugeot España, says: “This agreement is in keeping with Peugeot’s commitment to support the plans of institutions and companies to develop the electric vehicle, promote the use of renewables and improve their management while securing environmental benefits and enhancing energy efficiency.”
