The biomass facility is expected to be commissioned in 2014 and could provide 35 new permanent jobs over its expected operating lifespan of at least 25 years.

Virgin wood biomass fuel for the combined heat and power (CHP) generating plant will be imported directly to the Centre’s near dockside location by ship. The off-loading system will incorporate dust management control and a specialised, under cover storage building.
