The switch functions as a local disconnect for a string of solar photovoltaic (PV) panels, and is designed for an extended life expectancy in harsh environments, Schneider says.

“This Square D solar disconnect switch is another example of how Schneider Electric can provide the electrical balance of system for solar projects,” says Ted Campbell, Renewable Product Leader for Schneider Electric Renewable Energies Business.

The disconnect switch is suitable for both grounded and ungrounded solar PV systems and operates within a temperature range of -37°C to 50°C.
