Parabel AG plans a 90 MW solar power plant at a former military training ground in Brandenburg, Germany.

The first construction phase is expected to be around June to August 2011, and will total 41 MW.

Brandenburg aims to increase the proportion of renewable energy in the state to 20% of its primary energy use by 2020. The approval process should conclude in May 2011.

“Using conversion areas for photovoltaic facilities is a sensible and attractive option from both an ecological and an economic point of view,” says Jürgen Will, Managing Director of Parabel AG.

“We are currently conducting an investor selection process and we invite all investors with an interest in the project to contact us by the end of February. A detailed project description with more technical and economic information is available from Parabel AG.”
