Sharp Energy Solution Europe unveiled the Sun and Stars initiative during the Cinema for Peace gala in Berlin on 14 February. The initative’s first project is the installation of a Sharp solar energy system in a camp in Haiti run by Sean Penn.

According to Sharp, Sun and Stars mediates so-called energy partnerships between solar and other clean energy companies (‘suns’) and project coordinators in crisis and development areas (‘stars’) in order to support them in the production of renewable energy.

The company says that a commitment to Sun and Stars helps bring about public awareness of the poverty of many people in the world while, on the other hand, remedies the situation with concrete activities. The initiative is seeking support and has invited clean and renewable energy companies to take part.
