Proven Energy and Shetland Wind Power form partnership

Shetland Wind Power has agreed to exclusively sell Proven Energy products in the small wind energy sector.

By Isabella Kaminski

The two companies have worked together for the past 17 years, but the signing of a new contract makes Shetland Wind Power the latest member of Proven Energy’s Value-Added Reseller (VAR) network.

Proven Energy is small wind turbine manufacturer, while Shetland Wind Power supplies, installs and services wind turbines from its bases in Shetland and Glasgow. It has installed over 250 turbines to a range of customers including public bodies, schools, farms, rural businesses and community groups.

Michael Anderson, Shetland Wind Power’s Technical Director, says: “We are confident that the Proven 35-2 will be the best wind turbine for many of our customers. It has recently achieved MCS certification, making its customers eligible for feed-in tariffs, and is the only wind turbine in its class to do so. This allows us to offer a quality product which can also provide a tremendous financial return.”

The company’s turnover has doubled every year for the last three years. Last year it completed a multi-million pound deal with Nevis Capital in December 2010.

Steve McMahon, Proven Energy’s Director of Sales and Marketing, says: “We have actively been transforming and enhancing our global reseller network over the last 12 months. Shetland Wind Power will now reinforce Proven Energy’s leadership position by bringing the perfect blend of technical capability and experience from Michael Anderson and his team, combined with the professional management expertise of Nevis Capital and Sandy Speirs.”
