Energy efficiency and micro renewable generation provider formed

An energy efficiency and micro renewable energy generation company, Anesco, has been set up by Scottish and Southern Energy (SSE) and zouk ventures.

The aim is to exploit the regulatory and governmental support for a low-carbon economy in the UK. Anesco will target both domestic and commercial customers.

Anesco’s activities will include solar power, renewable heating, insulation, and other energy efficiency measures. It will also provide energy services to businesses including energy efficiency consultancy and a range of ongoing energy monitoring solutions, zouk and SSE say.

The company will acquire elements of SSE’s existing renewable energy and contracting business.

Alistair Philips-Davies, Energy Supply Director at SSE, says: “We hope the partnership will allow us to bring the latest technologies and best solutions to our customers. We are confident that [with] the combination of a strong management team and the close support of both zouk and SSE, Anesco can move quickly to become a market leader in the fast-growing energy efficiency sector.
