Platina buys 10 MW of solar PV in Italy

Private equity fund manager Platina Partners LLP has acquired 10 MW of solar photovoltaic (PV) projects from the Degennaro Group, an Italian construction firm.

Following the investment, Platina’s portfolio includes 162 MW of renewable energy projects in operation, including 31 MW operational solar PV projects, a further 82 MW in construction and over 900 MW of projects in development.

The 10 solar PV plants are located in the Puglia region of southern Italy and are 1 MW each.

The first plant was grid-connected in November and all plants are expected to be connected by the end of 2010.
