Goldwind buys wind turbine components from Semikron

Xinjiang Goldwind Science & Technology Co Ltd has signed a sales contract with Semikron China for continued supply of SKiiP power modules and complete Semistack power electronic assemblies for Goldwind wind turbines.

The power electronics are optimised for wind power applications, according to Semikron. SKiiP are intelligent power modules said to have a long service life, and the Semistack power assemblies have a power density of 12 kW/litre and a flexible modular design.

“A high quality supplier plays a vital role in the development of Goldwind and helps us grow and stay one of the leading wind turbine manufacturers in China,” says Kai Wu, Supply Chain Management General Manager of Goldwind.

In 2009, 13.7 GW of wind power was installed in China.
