The contract to build the wind farm was awarded to Nareva, a subsidiary of the ONA Group, and partner International Power.

No financial details were given, but Reuters reports a cost estimate of 2.7 billion dirhams (~US$313.3 million) for the wind farm.

The wind farm is expected to go live in 2011.
