MarineWind Alliance seeks Round 3 offshore wind energy rights

The MarineWind Alliance consortium of wind power, maritime operations and renewable energy investment companies has submitted a joint bid for exclusive rights for Round 3 offshore windfarm rights from the UK Crown Estate.

The MarineWind Alliance consists of Acciona Energy, Good Energies, OceanWind, and Power@Sea.

Consortium members:
  • Acciona Energy manufactures wind turbines and has a €33 million offshore windfarm research and development programme.
  • Good Energies is a global investor in renewable energy and energy efficiency industries.
  • OceanWind focuses on deep-water windfarm site selection, consenting, project design and development.
  • Power@Sea offers turnkey solutions for large offshore windfarm developments.

“The scale and ambition of Round 3 poses significant supply chain, financial, consenting and other challenges,” says Ian Taylor, Director at Good Energies. “MarineWind Alliance has been formed to address these challenges, drawing on the combined track records and supply chain capabilities of the consortium members and their affiliated and partner companies.”

These include international renewable energy investment companies, dedicated offshore windfarm developers, a wind turbine manufacturer, offshore windfarm foundation engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) providers, an offshore windfarm electrical infrastructure engineering company, and marine contractors.
